1. Will my health insurance cover my post mastectomy products?
Yes, most health
insurance
covers post mastectomy products, to
include: breast prosthesis, breast forms, mastectomy bras and
camisoles. Some insurances even cover wigs.
2. Will my health insurance still cover my
post-mastectomy products if I had breast reconstruction?
Yes, your health insurance will cover bras,
breast prosthesis, breast forms and camisoles even if you had breast
reconstruction. If you had breast reconstruction and may need
a prosthesis,
because one breast might be smaller/different than the other (ex: due to
radiation), your health insurance will cover your prosthesis to give
you a more symmetrical look.
3. What is a breast prosthesis?
A breast prosthesis is a silicone filled
breast shaped form that is worn in the pocket of a mastectomy bra.
4. What is a breast form?
A breast form is a breast shaped fiber filled form
made from a material other than silicone. It can be made from
fabric, foam, or a fiber fill type of material.
5. Do I really need a post surgical camisole
immediately after my surgery?
No, however, a post-surgical
camisole can make your after care process a more comfortable
experience. The camisole comes with drain pouches, so you
won't have to pin the drain bulbs to your clothing. The drain
pouches are removable. A comfortable non-weighted breast puff
is also included and can be inserted in the breast pocket to give
you a more symmetrical look. It also helps you feel like your
still wearing a bra.

6. When can I be fit for my prosthesis?
Usually, we recommend 4-6
weeks after your surgery. However, it may be longer.
A doctor's prescription is necessary. Don't worry, if you come
in without one, we can contact the doctor for you. We're here
to help.
7. How soon can I wear a breast form?
Since a form is lightweight and soft, you can
wear one about one week after surgery.
8. How soon can I wear a post-surgical mastectomy
bra? We recommend wearing one when your
drains are removed. However, you can continue wearing your
camisole if you like and just remove the drain pouches.
9. How often does my insurance cover post mastectomy
products? The best thing to do is call
us to verify your benefits, because each insurance company is
different.
10. Do I have to pay when I purchase my post
mastectomy products? Depends on whether
you have any co-pays or deductibles. We can verify your
insurance prior to your visit if you like, so you don't run into any
surprises. We are IN NETWORK providers for most
insurance.

11. Do I have to have an appointment?
No, you don't have to have an appointment,
however we do recommend an appointment, since we always take our
"appointments," before our "walk-ins." If you don't want to
wait, then I would set an appointment. We always try to see
our customers as soon as possible.
12. Do I have to wear a breast prosthesis?
We highly recommend wearing a breast
prosthesis if you had a single mastectomy. Not only do the
prosthesis give you a symmetrical look, but it also keeps you
balanced. Bilateral mastectomy (both breast removed) customers
don't necessarily have to, but we do recommend wearing lightweight breast prostheses.
13. Can I wear my prosthesis swimming?
It depends on the breast
prosthesis that you purchased.
Not all prostheses are water
resistant. Lady Like carries breast
prostheses that can be worn while swimming. We will always let you know before you leave our store,
and written
care instructions are included with each purchase.
14. How long does a fitting take?
Usually 30 - 45 minutes, depending on how many bras you'd like
to try on. At Lady Like, we do take our time with each
customer, and do our best to help you achieve the perfect fit.
15. Can I visit Lady Like if I didn't have
breast surgery or breast cancer?
Yes.
We also offer full supported
regular bras that go up to sizes 56K. Yes, that right, I said 56K.
Eight out of ten woman are wearing the wrong size bra for a number
of different reasons. When you come in for a fitting, you not
only leave with a proper fitting bra, but we will show you what to
look for when purchasing bras on your own. We're always here to help.

16. Will my insurance cover a wig?
Some insurances do and
others don't. Medicare will not. Wigs are
usually covered by insurance if the need resulted from a medical
condition. Please call us and we will assist with the
verification of your insurance benefits.
17. Does my health insurance cover headwear and
scarves? No, unfortunately they don't.
